Bond was issued the Walther PPK in 1958's Dr. No. Fleming admitted in an interview at some point that he had no expertise or interest in the technicalities of firearms.
Guess what books got me hooked on reading in the early 60s...
Maybe I should stop watching movies and read a book now and then....
