Re: Powder life
My understanding is that provided it was stored decently it should be fine. I've used 50 year old primers without issue and no one thinks twice about shooting 50+ year old military surplus ammo that's in good condition. Keep in mind 50 years ago is 1971

Shooting teams for a teen
I am the Scoutmaster for an all girls troop in Grapevine and one of my Scouts has expressed an interest in joining a "shooting team" after having a great time at summer camp earning shotgun merit badge. Not sure what she wants to shoot specifically but her dad asked if I could reach out an...

I said something stupid
I have a no soliciting sign on my front door. Despite that, some people still knock and that is what happened this morning. I answered the door to find a late 20's man who had backed halfway up my walk away from the door who immediately began his speech. I cut him off, pointed to the sign on my door...

Re: Brass for 5.56 reloading
You can load down to .223 level in 5.56mm cases, although your loads may differ slightly from the data due to the somewhat smaller case capacity/slightly thicker brass of the 5.56mm NATO. Loading 5.56mm NATO loads in .223 Rem. cases will shorten the life of the cases except maybe in the case of Lap...

Brass for 5.56 reloading
It looks like my stock of brass for my M&P15 is just about done. I'm starting to see case neck cracks. The brass began life as Remington 223 55gr FMJ and I have been reloading 223 spec loads for my AR. My question is whether I should restock with 223 ammo or 5.56 ammo? I am aware of the differen...

Re: California bar shooting leaves 12 dead
This is my hometown and I know that bar well. I stand a pretty good chance of knowing people who were there, at least one friend stopped by last night but decided it was too busy and left. I cant stand my FB feed today as many of my friends are harping on guns because something happened close to the...

There was no way to win when you're presented with a list of things that will get you shot and then ordered to perform actions that almost guarantee you will do one of those actions.
Unbelievable!

Re: Meyerson Symphony Center
Its not posted and people carry. I didnt due to an employer restriction. Worked there every day for several years. Occassionally a rental group would post 8.5x11 signs for their event but they werent enforceable. There are usually a few carrying in the audience and often onstage depending on the con...

Re: GUN BROKER
I guess Im the lone problem story... Bought a few things of GB when I held an 03FFL and no problems except one. Got an incredible deal on an Enfield No4 MkI. Well it was indeed too good to be true. Rifle arrived and had the rear site replaced. The seller had taken off the peep sight from the picture...

Re: Anybody own a Sig P226 in 9mm?
Yes, awesome, flawless, buy one...or 2. Maybe a P229 as a pair. First pistol I bought after a friend let me try pretty much every full size 9mm. Ran it through a 900 round combat pistol course that left it looking like desert camo from all the sweat, sunscreen and dirt. It never missed a beat. Tiny ...

Re: M&P 15/22s Banned At Appleseed Events After Out Of Battery and “Run Away” Discharges
I shot an appleseed a few years ago and it was awesome! Started out with a Ruger mini14 but it quickly became problematic with so many FTE that I couldnt complete a string. Never did figure out what the issue was other than it was drizzling which may have caused the 5.56 rounds to stick. Who knows a...

Shipping rifle to yourself
Searching on my phone was tiresome and I need to decide soon. Sooooo.... I have an old mossberg 22 rifle that I purchased on my 03ffl when I lived in California. I purchased it because it was the same model as my uncles and it made my dad all nostalgic to shoot one again. Moved to Texas but left the...

Re: Bad Luck in Malibu
That is in Malibu canyon. If you dont plan for that turnout you will get exactly that. Happens fairly often and there is zero shoulder. If he got out without looking he for sure was going to get nailed. Its a blind corner that people take very fast.
Drove that road every day for many years.
