Of course not. I just don't want to treat politics like a game anymore. The idea is that everyone is supposed to vote for who they think is best, not who they think has the best chance of winning.Charles L. I must confess that when I read scathing attacks on Trump by supposedly pro-gun folks, I wonder why they don't just use a Hillary for President image as their avatar. You may not like the boat we're in, but drilling holes in the hull is not an answer.

Re: Cruz is out.
I blame the system... We calculate election winners in pretty much the single worst way possible. I don't know if the founding fathers were simply unaware of its faults, or if practical realities forced their hands, but this whole "first past the post" system has to go.jason812 wrote:I did my part to try to keep Obama from being elected, twice. Does that mean I blame every body that stayed home or voted 3rd party for him being elected, no. I blame the Republican party for giving us McCain and Romney. I don't blame the people that didn't want to vote for them for Obama's election. For all those that want to blame me if I don't vote for Trump, it's not a 100 percent no, for Hillary winning, do you blame those that didn't vote for McCain or Romney or do you blame the party that put them on the ballot?

Respectfully, I, and I think a few others of us, have come to view this whole "vote for the least offensive candidate who can win" game as drilling holes in the hull as well.Charles L. Re: Cruz is out.
Every single election cycle there's some reason why "this is the one time we *have* to make sure the democrats lose". I'm sick of it. What's the point of voting if you never vote for someone you actually want? If you, like me, don't like that it could let the democrats win, then I suggest you start looking for a way to get a ranked voting system in this country. I the meantime, I'm going to go look for someone I won't be ashamed to support.Keith B wrote:So, would you sacrifice your gun rights and many other freedoms just to show that you didn't really like Trump? Cause that's what we will get if we don't all band together and support whoever that has an actual chance of beating her!!jason812 wrote:Just remember that every vote not cast in protest or for a third party candidate and not Trump was brought on by the republican party and if Hillary is elected it's not the fault of the people that didn't vote for Trump. The blame lies squarely on the inept elected republicans during at least the last 8 years if not more.Bryanmc wrote:Just remember, every vote withheld in protest is as good as a vote for Hillary or Bernie.

Re: Cruz is out.
Yep... I was holding out hope that for the first time in my life (I'm 37), I'd be able to vote for someone rather than merely voting against someone else.ELB wrote:I am not surprised, but I am downhearted. We are well and truly screwed.
Time to start looking at 3rd party candidates, I guess.
