I hope they throw the book at him. Happened in Ohio. A 22 year-old CHL shoplifts some earrings at Macy's and gets caught by loss prevention people.
Unarmed petty theft would have been a misdemeanor with a 30 day maximum jail time.
Since he was armed, he was charged with felony robbery. It has a maximum of 8 years and a $15,000 fine.
