I can see how that design would lessen the chances of knife falling off the counter and cutting your foot on the way down*, but if I stab you with it that rounded bit will just make it hurt more.

*If you've got wood or linoleum flooring and the knife is falling point-down, a sharp traditional pointed knife might stick in the floor (or at least probably not bounce much), whereas this design could go off in who knows what direction.

I'm kinda scared that the reporter agreed with them so completely. She didn't even try to present the other side of the issue.

I wonder how long it'll take them to realize anything useful can just as easily be misused?
