That's an interesting rig you have, and this guitar-addicted inquiring mind would like to know how you interface bagpipes with a distortion pedal/amp? Do you have a 1/4" output jack on your bagpipes?

Gonna have to mic it. I'm thinking a Shure SM57 as the fallback mic when you don't know what else to use. But a Sennheiser 421 might be cool on there. Gotta go through a mixing board or something as a preamp and then come out 1/4" to the guitar rig.

421s sound good on, well, everything I've tried them on. Shure SM7s (without the 5), too. Ooooh, or an EV RE20 (my current favorite snare mic, if you can squeeze it in there).
