I tend to think of things like, if someone comes up and starts some chicanery while I'm at a red light, I could let off the brake, which will cause the ol' truck to lurch forward, which could give me the time to draw, not to mention get me off the X for a moment.
there are plenty of other sichy-ations I ain't thought of, though...
