I had planned to participate and looked forward to meeting everyone, but as the date gets closer I have just too much going on to make the trip. Maybe another time -- you all have fun!

Are Wally Walks Unisex?
YAY -- my plastic came today! Now I can plan my Wally Walk and am wondering whether Wally Walks are the same for both genders. Or are there any special adaptations for females? Looking for an excuse to go to Nordstrom for the right shoes for the occasion.

Re: Woman Requesting Help with Carry Choices
Excalibur , thanks for the link to the manual -- it is different than the manual I had found online (which we used to clean the gun before shooting it). So I'll be checking the version in your link for additional information. Well, I shot the H&K P7 last evening, and it went fine. What I like m...

It's slightly interesting that they ruled it an accidental shooting versus a suicide.

xdfanatic, your judgment and control under stress is very impressive. Let me add my "Thanks!" along with everyone else for taking time to share your experience. Your story is a wake-up call for me -- very helpful. Best of luck to you and your girlfriend in your new digs!

Re: Woman Requesting Help with Carry Choices
A couple of things to be aware of with this gun include: 1. Compressing and releasing the front strap safety / cocking mechanism has a sound signature that's not as loud as racking a 12 gauge shotgun, but it's not a whole lot quieter either. If you're trying to be subtle, this is something to keep ...

I think you two are conducting the most organized and dispassionate pre purchasing exercises we've seen described on this Forum. An assessment spreadsheet is really impressive. I fully expect to see an RFP (Request for Proposal) next. It's the engineer in me, Excaliber ... yes, the next step ...

It's also amazing that the timing was such that flying car parts didn't take out a bunch of other cars on the highway.

Re: Woman Requesting Help with Carry Choices
here's what I have so far in my spreadsheet. It is not complete, and I do plan to add a column for my comments once I've handled the guns in question, but it's a start. I was using my Sig P250 subcompact as my "baseline", because I know it pretty well, but there's nothing magic about any ...

Re: Woman Requesting Help with Carry Choices
She tried a Kahr P9 and liked the feel but she got to try one at the range and the recoil was to much for her. That’s when we realized she needed a heavier but small semi-auto. The Kahr K9 is around 25 ounces unload and was perfect in her hand. The S&W 908 weighs 24 ounces and fits her hand alm...

I'm not even a member of any other forums anymore. I've been in other forums that all devolved into members just starting arguments and flame wars on purpose, banning people over personal petty differences etc. Well, I was curious about other forums because I'm new to this kind of thing -- I am ple...
