I've been opposed to the 1968 GCA since it passed and would still love to see a repeal. Realistically, I don't see it happening anytime soon and meanwhile I'd prefer to avoid being a felon.

This has only been the law since the Gun Control Act of 1968. It isn't exactly new.

Of course, the founders were spinning in their grave back then and haven't stopped yet.

That is a federal felony.

He must go through an FFL.

There is no legal way (except a bequest upon death) for a private citizen resident one state to transfer a firearm to a private citizen who resides in a different state.

All such transfer must go through an FFL.
