Re: With companies not selling to LEO's READ

There are 317 sheriffs on that list. There are a little over 2,000 counties in the US. Just because one can find examples of sheriffs that support the 2A does not mean that all of them -- or even a majority of them -- support it. They might or might not -- insufficient data.

Anyway, my take on the issue is it has nothing to do with whether or not the sheriff supports the politician's bad laws.

If a state like California says ordinary citizens cannot possess an items -- like a .50 caliber rifle, for example, or a 30-round magazine -- but then goes on to say that law enforcement officers can get permission to personally purchase them, I have no problem with a company deciding that it will not support special exemptions for law enforcement and hold an LEO to the same standards allowed ordinary citizens.

I do not agree with a company saying it will not sell to LEO for a personal purchase of a product that is allowed to be purchased by ordinary citizens in their state. To use Wilson Combat for example, I believe anyone in NY can still purchase 7 round 1911 magazines. So if Wilson Combat is willing to sell those magazines to NY civilians, it should be willing to sell to NY LEO's. But Wilson Combat also makes custom AR's. Civilians will no longer be allowed to purchase them, so I am fine with Wilson Combat refusing to sell the to Law Enforcement, either at the agency level or for individual LEO private purchase.

If a company decides there is simply too much liability to sell anything to anyone in a certain state, that is fine with me as well. My company operates in 49 of the 50 states. We have decided we are not willing to operate in California due to its crazy business environment. If we have national customers that need service in California, we will service that account using agents in California. It is a business decision, not personal.
