I think the owner unwittingly displayed more truth about himself that he meant to with that comment. The word "crazy" should not be associated with guns by a professional IMO.
Don't get me wrong, being a crummy business in no way changes the clerk's right to self defense. My only observation is his need for self defense is less surprising there than other gun stores.
