Yeah, they can write for 66, but those are also pretty easy to get tossed out in court. I used to get speeding tickets when I was younger -- usually at least 15-20 over. My last ticket, I had two simultaneous realizations. First, I had gotten two tickets in a row via instant laser and realized my radar detector was a false sense of security. Second, during the stop, the cop explained to me that if I set my cruise control on 5 over, I'd "never get stopped". Since then, I've never been stopped. Of course, I am also home in bed at O-dark-thirty instead of on the road. I fully understand how any legitimate reason for the initial stop can and is used as leverage to ask questions and find more serious crimes.
