Re: "Arizona style" Immigration Bill Filed in Texas
I’ve often wondered if securing our borders and immigration are two separate issues. One would have an effect on the other in that once the borders are secure it will be harder to immigrate into the US, however, dealing with the immigrants who are already here is a different issue. As TAM said, #1. ...

When stopped by an LEO, the LEO normally runs your ID through TCIC and NCIC. How hard would it be for the LEO to just run everyone’s ID through ICE? If everyone’s immigration status was being checked then no one would be discriminated against or profiled.

Re: Campus Carry bill filed today plus others
There is a conservative blogger who is a friend of Gov. Perry that has a poll on her blog about campus carry. She and a few other bloggers recently went skeet shooting with Gov. Perry and he pays attention to her's as well as the other bloggers. The poll currently is 88% for campus carry. http://ann...

Re: Shoulder Holsters
I'm also interested in what shoulder holsters have worked best for folks here and what features in particular they liked or didn't like. I'm thinking about making a shoulder rig, so I'm hunting for ideas on the details. In particular, what are folks' feelings on rigs with tie-downs versus those wit...

Re: Shoulder Holsters
I’m 6’2” and I prefer leather shoulder harnesses, however the current trend is for 1” leather support straps. Look on eBay for a Bianchi Scorpio 13A that is made for the weapon you choose to carry. This is a large rig that fits me with plenty of room to spare as I can let it out another 4”. It also ...

IMO 2012 goes in the same file that Y2K went in. I’m more worried about hyperinflation and our economy. This article from Forbes leads me to think stocking up now can save me money later: http://blogs.forbes.com/greatspeculations/2010/10/27/the-food-crisis-of-2011/?boxes=Homepagechannels" oncli...

Re: Any preppers on here or other survival minded people?
I applied for my CHL because I was preparing for the need to protect my family and self. In that respect perhaps we are all preppers. Many people can go through their entire lives and never have a need to protect themselves. I’m just of the thought that I’d rather have a CHL and not need it than nee...

Re: Any preppers on here or other survival minded people?
Prepping doesn’t have to be for an apocalyptic occurrence, it can also be just preparing for the little things such as my family losing our source of income. I’m not Mormon but I do like one of their teachings that is something like, ‘No man should allow himself to become a burden on another while h...

Re: Any preppers on here or other survival minded people?
I've been prepping for a while now and I'm approx 70% set. My father came from the post depression era and always had ½ years of food and supplies on hand. When he died he passed on the tin foil hat to me. I agree, odds are nothing will ever happen. Well, apart from hurricanes, tornados, drought, pa...
