That is funny here in New Braunfels we have a UPS store a Fedex store but also a fedex hub. The UPS store has a policy of NO firarms of any type at anytime.. its the store policy, the fedex store never knows the answer but the fedex hub is very pro gun and has all the answers. Maybe I am lucky to have a gun frindly Fedex in my town.QB wrote:Guess each FedEx office may be different. The one here told me it a handgun had to be overnight. They also were going to require me to remove the firing pin. I left and went to UPS.

Re: Broken rail on glock
Sorry if I was not clear... 15.00 from Fedex based on weight and size of the box, 2 day air IS the norm... I do not break any laws and do it often enough to know either I am right or FedEx in TX is breaking the law and they are not. There is a big difference in dealing with FedEx on you own and going to the FedEx store and talking to a 20 year old kid.jmra wrote:I'm sure I could have boxed the gun up and kept my mouth shut and saved some money. But, I had read fedex's policy and I like to sleep good at night. I'm not going to be deceitful to save a few bucks.
I am not going to loose my CHL or -03 trying to save a few bucks. : tip hat:
If you are sending the gun to the manufacturer, it’s a non issue.

An FFL can ship a handgun via USPS, where I as an individual can not, and its quite a bit cheaper than using fed-ex or UPS.Vecco wrote:Any firearm being sent to the Manufacturer can be sent from home you do not need a FFL to send it.G.A. If you can get a ffl for under 20 thats great... best I can get is 25.. and I an VERY happy to get that rate.. but rember when you give your gun to a FFL its no longer your gun. 99.9% there is no problem.. but its no longer your gun in the eye of ATF.

Re: Broken rail on glock
I agree if it was 1950 that would be true. It fuuny some people think we still buy a Ford Model A and take to to the car dealer ship and get a dodge viper back. Or did you buy a 159.00 1911 ??G26ster wrote:No, if it was a 1911, the rail never would have broken. However, it would have been back to the factory or gunsmith several times to "tweak the extractor," replace the slide stop, replace the grip safety with a beavertail to stop it from biting you, re-stake or reglue the plunger tube, and polish the feedramp to feed hollowpoints.

jmra wrote:Shipped the g23 by fedex today. $63.00! At first they said I had to be a dealer to ship it. Once I convinced them that it was ok since I was shipping it to glock, they insisted it had to be shipped priority overnite. Now I understand the overnite thing but does it really have to be there by 10:30?
Just another scheme to take another few bucks.
You got ripped off... I have a FedEx account so I do it all on-line and they pick it up at my house. In 2010 I sent no less then 4 pistols to have work done and they all cost me under $20.00 US out of Texas. Its not over night, it has to be 2 day for pistols. You can set up an at home FedEx account on your CPU for free. Its nice around X-mass and peoples B-days, Oh and its nice for shipping firearms and ammo.
