Re: How Do We Know?
Round Rock ISD is one good example. Evidently the law provides a fine for gov't entities that post 30.06 or 30.07 signs. On another forum, they were going to send a certified letter to the RRISD superintendent as "official notice", then report to the AG. I don't know if that's the proper p...

Re: I now regret that OC passed
I've not seen anyone else OC'ing yet, but I've not been out much. I open carried last weekend in San Antonio. Nobody gave me any grief, but I'll probably CC most of the time. My rule is i will NOT go into a business with 30.06 signage - it isn't safe in my mind. I will avoid a business with 30.07 si...

Re: Whole Foods Gun Policy
Update: Whole Foods is in the process of posting 30.06 signs at all their locations. I complained to them via their company web site and received the following response on August 11, 2014: --------- Hi John, Thank you for inquiring about Whole Foods Market’s “No Firearms” policy. Whole Foods Market ...

Re: MINUTE MAID PARK
FYI...
Carried in Minute Maid during the McCartney concert last night.
No problem / no metal detectors / no hassles.
There was one sign listing items prohibited in the stadium - weapons, bottles, any projectile that could be thrown (like loose change, I suppose)

Re: MINUTE MAID PARK
Going to Paul McCartney at Minute Maid in November. It's a non-sporting event at a gov't owned facility so there really shouldn't be any way they can prohibit a CHL holder from carrying, that I can think of. I plan to carry, BUT... will arrive early in case they won't let me in and I have to hike ba...

Re: Carrying at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock
I was at the livestock show and rodeo all day. Never saw a 30.06 sign (or even a 51 sign at The Hideout). Nobody really cared if I was carrying or not.
But if you're a woman (or a man, I suppose), carrying in your purse, they'll spot it when inspecting your back and may/may not freak out.

Re: Carrying at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock
Follow up -
The change requiring "effective notice" is in the campus carry bill, and puts ALL sporting events (scholastic, collegiate, and professional) in the same category as churches, hospitals, and amusement parks.

FYI...
There is a bill in the Texas Legislature that would put professional sporting events in the same category as churches and hospitals... they would have to post a 30.06 sign to prohibit concealed carry. And I'm not sure that Reliant could even post a 30.06 sign, since it is publicly owned.

Re: Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending
I received my CHL last weekend, Aug 7. Website still shows "Manufacturing Pending" today, Aug 11. I think once the background check shows complete, you're home free, and evidently they're not real sticklers for keeping the website current. Total Time was about 39 days, mailbox to mailbox, ...

Re: June 2010 applications
Mailed in all my stuff on June 29. My license was in the mailbox Saturday, August 7. So, about 38 days, mailbox to mailbox.
Website still shows "Manufacturing Pending", though.
Dude, it is sad when USPS is more current than your website :)
