Dear Steveincowtown,
There is no policy against customers carrying their handgun in our stores as
long as he/she is legally permitted by their state to carry the handgun.
As a private property owner, Walmart has the authority to ask customers to
remove their handgun or leave the store on a case-by-case basis if customers or
Walmart associates express concerns about the handgun.
For more information or further assistance, please contact your local stores
management for assistance.
Sincerely,
Walmart Customer Care

I asked Walmart about their policies and here is what I was told. Notice the portion in bold has not been in prior replies from them:

For all those that think this is the way to go promoting 2nd amendment rights, lets see your videos carrying in walmart...steveincowtown wrote:Please cite.texanjoker wrote:Another LAME video of people looking for drama. If this guy goes town to town filming the cops, he should know Walmart doesn't allow open carry. The leo's responded to multiple armed people in a Walmart and were calm, cool and did a good job. Heck they didn't even disarm the people so no story.
I believe Walmart's official policy is to follow the laws in the state in which the store is located. I have OCd in Walmart's in VA no less than 2 dozen times and have never been asked to leave. Matter of fact I can't only think of one instance where anyone seem to notice, and even then they said nothing.
Not sure a floor level employee at any store would have a clue what Walmart's official policy is on just about anything, much less than guns. Just saying...
My personal experience is that is not a big deal (in states with OC). Unless you enjoy watching a middle age guy shop for socks and motor oil, video taping myself doing it would be pretty anti climatic.
I think the best way to promote any right is to exercise it without any shame. IMHO It is pretty Orwellian to think that if an citizen is exercising their rights and someone has a problem with it, that we should be reprogramming the citizen instead of offering better training to the LEOs.
To me it would be no different than someone calling the cops on a street preacher in downtown Fort Worth. In theory the cops would respond, assess the situation (more than likely without asking for ID or detaining them), realize no laws were being broken and go about their daily business.
