If you want something cheap, Academy runs the Stevens 200 in .270 or 7mm for $199.95. Add a $100 scope and you are good to go.
But the old standby is a 30-30 levergun, Winchester or Marlin. The Winnie is lighter and a bit better balanced. Peep sights for older eyes, still at about $300.
