Not a problem for the officer at all. In fact, his only comment on it was a "thanks" for my removing the bolt from the gun before he approached the car, to set his mind at ease (it was a Russian Mosin-Nagant 44, with the long, wicked spike bayonet; hardly a "friendly" looking gun). Yeah, I know I didn't have to remove the bolt, it just seemed the respectable thing to do.
If I'm on the side of the road, the last thing I want an LEO seeing me doing is fooling with a firearm!
