If you can, take some extra gas, and plenty of water to drink.

I bugged out wed morning. Took about 7 hours to get to Dallas then. One of my buddies tried to bug out this morning at 4:30am and hasn't yet made it out of town. Said lots of people were running out of gas (on the road)

I know what you mean about the arsenal. I had my AR, 3 handguns, and around 400rds of ammo with me in the front... with more in the trunk.
