There are some important thoughts in the thread.
#1 If you are in a vehicle the general rule is you use the vehicle to avoid or escape if you can. The vehicle fight is when you can't get away in your vehicle (examples being a carjacking or riot where your escape path is blocked)
#2 Theft is a major issue. True concealment is vital. Gun safes are the best practice
#3 Using a long gun in an active shooter incident has certain risks and benefits. The long gun may be the better weapon for winning a fight, but creates risks during the linkup afterwards with law enforcement.

Re: Truck Guns!
Having such a rifle that uses the same ammo/mags as your carry pistol is I think a good option.howdy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 10:46 pm OK ready for the bashing. My travel "rifle" in my Kel Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm, Glock Magazines. I carry it in a lap top computer case with 3 30 round magazines and 1 16 round in the gun. These magazines fit my Glock 19. I can carry this in a restaurant, mall, anywhere I want to go and no one even looks at it. It is much more accurate than a handgun and very easy to carry.with the attached sling. People just believe I don't want to leave my computer in the car.
I know at least one forum member has the M&P FPC

Re: Truck Guns!
During the "peaceful protests" of 2020 I was carrying at least 1 pistol and 1 AR in the vehicle.
Clint Smith has that classic saying: ""The handgun would not be my choice of weapon if I knew I was going to a fight. I’d choose a rifle, a shotgun, an RPG or an atomic bomb instead."
Kyle Morgan recommends the Fold AR: https://foldar.com/
AR pistols are also a nice option. 11.5 is a nice all around barrel length.
You can disguise that stuff in a non-gun case to look like something else. Vehicle safes are probably the best option though.
