It might be true if that power was used without restraint. But we're not using that power without restraint in Afghanistan, and we didn't use it without restraint in Iraq, Vietnam, or Korea either; we didn't even use it without restraint in WW2 --so it most certainly isn't going to be used without restraint on our own soil. And if the attempt was made to do so it would undoubtedly provoke a revolt in the military.

None of those wars were a direct threat to the power of the Administration. I don't know where our government would draw the line at restraint, if they felt their jobs and power over the citizens were threatened. If they would kill a few of rebells standing up to them, would they draw the line at just shooting them with m4s, grenade launchers or blockbusters? I suppose it would depend on who is in charge? Would Barry take the opportunity to wipe out all the bitter clingers? and teach them a lesson? I don't know myself, but I do know he doesn't think highly of us.
