Re: Ammo Shortage

This is insane, I remember buying 22lr for my rifle when I was 16 at the local hardware store for a couple bucks for a box of 100. :banghead:
I believe illegal drugs are easier to find and buy than .380. Maybe actually making ammo illegal instead of just threatening too will make ammo easier to buy.

Just wondering...

Don't have video but the clerks at wally world have made the comment on a couple occasions about Bullet trap buying ammo there. I really can't see why they would do this. Surely a gun dealer can get better prices than buying from wally world. They would have all the same distributor connections as wally world. I dunno, but Academy and Wally world in plano off of central have both spoken of Bullet trap guys stalking the stores first thing in the morning.
I know of restaurants, and garages buying at Wally world. Retailers for years have complained that Wallyworld sells at better price than they can get Wholesale. This is why they are also known as the Borg.

We are talking 10's of thousands of folks that are going to wake up and realize just how stupid it is having enough ammo to supply a regiment. These folks are out of the ammo market for years to come. Most people go shooting a few times a year. Those of us that go once a week or more are in the minority.

I think I will relax about all this and wait it out.
If just rumors that are not verifiable nor that even make sense can cause just such a run, what would happen if something real were to happen? I got caught flat footed with this shortage. No money no time and no space to catch try to hoard. I am resolved though that once I am home, and catch my breath with expenses that I'm going to be a hoarder. I really hate not being able to go to the range because I don't have enough ammo. I've been able to buy 200 rounds since January in 2 trips. 100 rounds at Wally world and 100 rounds at Academy. Both times all they had was some shotgun shells and 9mm. I think 9mm and 22s are the most available handgun rounds. My salt water washed ammo is actually starting to look tempting.

Re: Ammo Shortage

One thing that sorta bugs me about this sort of thing is that f the domestic manufacturers caant keep up, where are the foreign suppliers? I would assume that Obamaism has created a national demand not a worldwide demand. It would seem as though the international supplies should be able to kick in and fill in the void not met by the likes of Olin who refuse to increase manufacturing capability.

:iagree:
Problem is that the shortage is real for those of us who don't have the time to hunt it down.
