Thanks for that. Any idea why they take the ratings down so quick after the election?
Maybe they are embarrassed about it?

I've gone back and forth on whether it's better to get the information to the pro-gun legislators or the anti-gun legislators. I think that it's important that everyone have the facts; however, we can't count on the anti-gun legislators to provide the facts to the pro-gun legislators, so we need to make sure that the pro-gun legislators have the facts to give to the anti-gun legislators. Does that make sense?

A lot of typically pro-gun legislators simply don't know the facts surrounding this issue. I think our first priority needs to be to make sure that they have the facts. Then, the 2/3 of the House that is pro-gun can share the facts with the 1/3 of the House that is anti-gun.
I figure that those who are pro gun already understand the issues. Those that are against need to be educated. Actually you make a good point, there are a lot of folks that get A- or B's that can't be counted and don't seem to really understand the issues. I don't normally think of anyone who is rated less than A+ as being pro gun. and sending a handbook to someone who is rated an F is probably an exercise in futility. The handbook not only makes a convincing arguement for campus carry, it is a pretty good statement about the CHL program in general.

Also does anybody know where I can find the list of ratings for the State Representatives and State Senators? I have looked everywhere and cant find one. Thanks!
On a related note, these two state representatives are the only pro-gun members of the Texas House Public Safety committee (the committee where the concealed carry on campus bill is most likely to be sent) who haven’t yet received copies of the “SCCC Handbook: Texas Edition:”

The Honorable Hubert Vo
Texas House of Representatives
P.O. Box 2910
Austin, TX 78768-2910

The Honorable Phil King
Texas House of Representatives
P.O. Box 2910
Austin, TX 78768-2910

The makeup of the Public Safety committee includes 5 pro-gun members and 4 anti-gun members. It’s important that all of the pro-gun members see the evidence supporting the legalization of concealed carry on college campuses--we can’t afford to lose any of their votes.

If anybody wants to order a copy of the handbook (the cost is $9.13 + $5.25 S&H) for one of these representatives, you can find instructions in this post: http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 84#p241984" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you want to view a PDF of the handbook before ordering a hard copy, you can do so here: http://www.StudentsForConcealedCarryOnCampus.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I believe it is even more important to get the handbook to those who haven't been traditionally gun friendly. The handbook may be a real eyeopener for them.
