I told him that I apologize, I hope his wife heals both physically and mentally and that I don't agree with his ban em all method.
I am sure sure your last email will have more of a positive effect, than your first...
Thanks :tiphat:

Reading between the lines on his website, he seems to be implying that there was a young man with the guy that admited to shooting the .50 cal. He seems to be trying to gather support for some sort of mandatory training before being allowed to touch a .50 cal rifle.

Perhaps if we all email him with our support to find the "responsible party", rather than ban the "responsible gun" it may quell this guys anger a bit and turn him to our side... the irony is he is a gun owner. He is quite angry from reading his rant, on the site.... although THE ALL CAPS IS DARN ANNOYING. I say we all email Mel with our prayers and offers to help find the person responsible. Take 2 minutes and type him a brief note: mel@50caldanger.org

It would be ironic to find out the bullet was an errant police training round.

I emailed Mel and received a response. I am ashamed to say his response indicated I was the first in the gun owning community to email him something other than hateful comments towards him and his family. I really think from reading his email he is on the fence regarding many of his comments to "ban 50 calibers." By reaching out in a positive manner we can change the perception of the gun owning community.
I am ashamed and embarrassed by the people that wrote nasty letters to this guy. His wife is an unfortunate victim through not fault of their own. Most of us would be looking to blame someone for an accident like this. I do believe that the Brady's latched onto this guy and "helped" him set up his web site. Its a typical leftist technique to find and exploit victims to serve their political agenda. Jim Brady himself was used in this way.
