My point wasn't about which party is most supportive, but that gun rights are not a simple Left vs Right or Republican vs Democrat.. Even the 20 that voted against the castle doctrine wasn't a majority of Democrats. Chucky who was a Republican was the biggest opponant, and the was more active in taking a stand against the RKBA than any Democrat in Texas. The real shame is that Chuckie didn't get tossed because he betrayed the rights of good Texans, but because he got caught up in a little sex scandal. When we support candidates just because of their party affiliations and ignore their performance and unethical actions we get bums like Delay and Rosenthal. Calling themselves Republicans doesn't make them one of the good good guys and in the long run the 2 of them have done more damage to the party itself than any Democrat has done in over 40 years.

`Nuff said.

No I'm not suggesting to anyone that the Democrats are the enlightened party, but the enemy within is much more dangerous than card carrying Bradys. The hard part is that Republican party politics makes it difficult to expose these bums for what they are.

you mean Republicans?
I guess so. But gun grabbing has never been solely a Democratic thing. While there are some Republican gun grabbers, There are a Democrats that will fight for our RKBA. It was both the very Liberal ACLU and the mostly very Conservative TSRA that took on Rosenthals attacks on the old travel laws. We really have to watch both sides.

The same people that voted for him and kept him in power are still around. He still has his minions in place. I wouldn't trust that office to be looking out for RKBA.
They do have that crazy chick that had the bed in the courtroom running for DA . As far as I know no one has asked any of the candidates how they feel about an armed citizenry.

The priors would not come into play...not during the trial at least. Horn...at the time he pulled the trigger had no idea the BGs had priors and therefore I do not think it can be brought in as evidence or as part of a defense. Rule 402 of admissible evidence....i think. It's not relevant because Horn did not know at the time he pulled the trigger.
Ok, so ignore the priors. I also think it will be pretty impossible to get a pool of people and actually pick 12 who do not know these scum were illegal, and other details. I thank God I live in Texas. If I have to be tried by a jury, I sure hope it is somewhere like Pasadena rather than Austin.
Remember though that Pasadena is Chuckie Rosenthal territory. Harris county isn't always RKBA friendly even though there are some indications things are improving.
