The thing about openOffice is that it is built upon a standard that is intended to always be upwards compatible.... I bet the OP got suckered into using that macrovirus called Vista that breaks 90% of windows programs ever written. I feel his pain. OpenOffice works on Linux windows, solarus and I believe the Mac under some compatibility thing.
