You do this by pushing the little silver circle down on the slide, allowing you to push the striker forward into the position it would hit to set off a primer. Once the striker is set forward you can stick something thing (allen wrench, piece of coat hanger)) into the little hole in the plastic piece on the back of your slide. Once that is depressed you can slide the plastic piece down and off the slide. The striker will come out the back and after it has been removed the magazine disconnect just falls out. Then put it all back together minus the magazine disconnect.
