Re: UK's 'biggest weapons haul'

I think this is the most pertinent paragraph:
Take a deep breath and consider what follows: I have never owned a gun and hope I never have to, but I want to have the right to do so if I wish - and the right to use a gun in defence of myself and my home. In fact, I do not think that I am a free citizen unless I have these rights.
That's exactly why I can hooey on the "freedom ranking" in another thread. Very few of those countries ranked above the US allow gun ownership and use in self-defense.

"It's become so easy to procure the thugs easily use," said a police source.

A source close to French intelligence, the French market is supplied by "petty crime - maximum ten weapons each time - which still come mainly from the former Yugoslavia, hidden in trucks or buses via Italy. "

Well, when guns are illegal, if you're going to have an illegal gun, why not go for full auto? Making guns illegal is an incentive to get the best weaponry you can if you're going to break the law. The UK just put an 88 year old man in prison for having a shotgun in his car. He was afraid of some thugs that had been threatening him and his wife. They didn't even look for the thugs. So this guy might as well have had a full auto AK instead of a shotgun.
