Cedar Park Dad wrote:Scenario: If I heard a noise, go in and my daughter is shouting saying there's a guy under her bed trying to attack her, what do you do then? I imagine I start shouting to come out with his hands up, but who knows in the heat of the moment. I can say in that scenario if he even blinks wrong he gets six rounds of buckshot. I'd view that as a definite threat and attack.

Of course my daughter isn't stupid enough to have a boy climb into her room at night. I'd be third or so in line of people/dogs tearing this guy a new one. The wife is downright vicious and might use...pliers...

seems to me I'd like your wife...."pass the pliers"
Somebody's attacking anybody from under the bed :eek6 there must be zombies or something, eh?

C'mon people, the lying daughter is the cause of this all. Surely, the young man, dead as he is, should've said, "...get thee behind me, Jezebel," and never entered that pit of iniquity. He did, and now he is dead for succumbing to the siren's song. A story as old as mankind itself; except, in this day and age, a lot of people will be suing a lot of other people...and who will prevail....stay tuned.
Exactly.

Charles L. Cotton wrote:As other have said, there's more to this story than has been reported thus far. However, the father said something that should sound familiar: "The father said he told the teen not to move, but reportedly saw the teen reach for something, at which point police say the father opened fire." Remember, the TPC §9.32(b) presumption applies if a person has "reason to believe" that the other person "entered unlawfully and with force." The kid didn't live there and the daughter told her Dad she didn't know him. This may have been a tragic but good shoot. Only time will tell.

Chas.

had she simply said, "Dad, he's my boyfriend" it would have been avoided. but she lied, so Dad thought the worst, and was prepared to see what he saw, a bad guy reaching for a weapon. Now, everyone has to live with the consequences of two teens being completely idiotic. Sure Dad would have been angry, and she would have been "grounded for life", but the boy would still be alive, to face his own grounding. I hate to say it's her fault....but.....
:iagree: .....assuming that's the way it happened.
