She did not want to go back to jail again, so she reported and was give a free airline ticket to London. (your nickle again)

Once in London, although relatively well off in the US, she took no money with her naturally and so on arrival was enrolled right into the welfare system of England. Money, place to live, free healthcare, etc.

She has readjusted, has a job in London, I occasionally get a post card from the South of France, when she is on holiday. Soon the US will be sending her social security benefits to her in England. She will probably comfortably retire in England with two pensions. In a few years she will be able to legally travel again to the US, so she can visit her friends and relatives who live here, and spend some of the money she has here.

But she will not get any amnesty. Nice ladies from England, to heck with people like that.

Education is the key to higher financial achievements. Even though, I do have uncles who had only intermediate level education, but still they were so successful as businessmen, they raised great generations of theirs.

Education is the key in those days to be successful in the internet age.

While I don't disagree with you, it's not the only path to success. It's probably the easiest one.

In short, the sharp divergence of those who are doing well in America (Professionals, with high degrees, successful small business owners, etc...) and those who have only high-school diploma or school drop outs and those who are here illegally and working in tough labor, like landscaping, day labors and construction workers, and kitchen and restaurant business, all that has introduced a culture of dependency on unemployment and welfare system for the later group.

In addition, elected democrats are only pushing to keep the later group where they are, so they would keep voting for them.
The aging America and the unbalanced and unsustainable Federal budget is real catastrophe in the making for USA.

We hope that US people can understand the scope of the problem and send to DC people who can resolve and fix the Federal System. Or, the US people would rise up in their spring and take back the control.

"Legalization" of those who are here illegally today is amnesty. I don't care whether it leads to citizenship now or later, the fact of the matter is that it rewards criminal activity by allowing those who stole from Americans and their resources to keep what they stole and remain here in America.

There is no restitution. There is no penalty of consequence. There is nothing except benefit for them and a gigantic magnet pulling even more illegal immigrants to America.

In the early 1900s when millions of people came through Ellis Island there was no welfare system. You either worked hard and earned a living, assimilating into our culture, learning English and strove to become educated or you starved. Yes, there were groups that provided help but it was voluntary; Churches and other groups, most faith-based, did indeed provide help to those who couldn't help themselves and that's fine. But there was no Section 8 housing, no WIC, no Food Stamps and no free medical care.

You worked or you starved.

Now there is such a system and it is not only abused it is why these people come in the first place. Jose the roofer shoots a nail through his foot and you get the bill for that accident because Jose has no medical insurance or money and his "employer" isn't paying workman's comp insurance either because he's working illegally. Then Jose goes home and screws his wife or girlfriend, she gets pregnant and you get the bill for the prenatal care and birth because he has no money and neither does she, and they both access that care under EMTALA when things get ugly.
