False consensus. A propaganda technique intended to make the uniformed believe that all the "experts" are in agreement.howdy wrote:Both programs were on last night in Houston. (I can't stand evening programing, so I channel surf) The first program "After Newtown" was very liberal and had many college professors giving their opinion. It was better than Piers Morgan, but not much. I only yelled at the screen three or four times. The second show about Adam Lanza was very informative but still slanted. (why did his Mom teach him to shoot, etc.) It portrays the Mom as being a good person who did all she could for a troubled child. No one really saw this horrible event coming. Her major fault was not keeping the guns secure.

There was one comment by the journalists that caught my ear. They noted with the two sides are so far apart on gun laws, the only way it could be resolved was by one side or the other becoming politically powerful enough to force it's will upon the other. Another thing I noticed was they totally left out even one single word on school security. It was indeed just more of the left's spin on things, though the PBS program did it in a more devious way than most. A google of the name of the program reveals it was heavily promoted to attract as many viewers as possible. I hope none of us are getting tired of the endless emails we are writing our elected officials or taking every opportunity to calmly discuss the true facts of gun control with people. I doubt the push to limit our gun rights will let up any time soon so we must stay in the fight.
MSNBC - left-wing propaganda
PBS - more sophisticated left-wing propaganda
