I had two out of five students use revolvers in a class this past Wednesday. Those were the first two I have ever had.

Re: Cardboard Targets Cost and Source ????
Amazon has paper B-27 targets for $45.19 for 100. Shipping is free if you are a Prime member. I believe these are regulation size. http://www.amazon.com/Champion-Black-Police-Silhouette-Target/dp/B0000C51QG/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368136402&sr=8-1&keywords=b-27+target" ...

Re: applying for instructor CHL-90 question
You have to submit everything. You won't get info on getting into a class until the application has been approved. You'll get your instructor's certificate at the end of the class if you pass the written and shooting tests.

Re: I am No Longer Looking For A Shield
I have a .40 M&P Shield which has become my EDC. It's noticeably thinner for IWB carry than my Glock 27 and much more pleasant to shoot than my Kahr PM40 (though a bit larger). YMMV.

And NYC taxi rides are usually cheaper than Six Flags admission, and FAR more scary - and the lines are shorter.

The wear on the guns hasn't been bad at all.

I've ordered three Crossbreeds recently and all have taken less than two weeks from the order to my mailbox.

Re: Applicant Photos?
The DPS response to me seems quite clear on the photos, and I will proceed based on the information they provided. The bigger question is why isn't this information being disseminated to ALL of the instructors. There appears to be zero communication to us. I learned about the new CHL-100 forms here ...

Re: Applicant Photos?
I emailed DPS and this is the reply I received: Yes, any new applicant that has a valid Texas DL or ID card can opt to have us use their photo from their DL/ID card. They must hand write- "Please use my Texas DL photo" on the CHL-6 form. Now, this only applies to those applicants that have...

Teaching My First Class; A Couple of Questions
I'll be teaching my first CHL class this weekend. I will have one renewal in the class and I want to make sure of a few things. It is my understanding that for the renewal the student must have 4 hours of class time that covers at least one of the four required topics: 1. Deadly force 2. Handgun use...

Re: May 2010 Applications
Hey guys,
DPS received my completed application on May 17th and I received my plastic today, 8/5/10 (81 days). Supposedly they are a bit behind on background checks but it''s hard to get any straight info when you call them.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Hey Guys,
My status, just today, has changed to:
Background Check : Completed
Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending
As a frame of reference DPS had received my completed application on 5/17/10.
Anyone know how long it takes them to "manufacture" and mail it?
