I have lived in El Paso my whole and describe it as one of the biggest small towns around. It's small enough that the people in general are friendly and helpful and big enough to have most modern comforts and venues but not so large that we have the crime of the bigger cities. Ft.bliss and the soldiers has alway been very welcome in the community and there has always been a sense of pride in the base. In fact it's one of the biggest players in stimulating the local economy. Most places you go it is not uncommon to see soldiers doing thier business among the people. Most businesses also offer some sort of military discount. I have had my chl for over a year now and have never had a problem carrying and found that it is very easy to go around town while running errands as most places do not have the correct signage . Alot of places do have no weapons allowed or gunbuster signs but nothing the can legally ban you from the premesis. All they can do is ask you to please leave if they find out your carrying. It's in my opinion that people here rather just turn a blind eye to chl laws and act like it doesn't really exist so it's best not to talk about it in mixed company and draw attention to your self.
