Re: First Wife Protest
Do you have a history of getting really into interests or hobbies? Is your wife reacting to a pattern of behavior, making the gun itself irrelevant? If so, ratchet back and settle in for the long haul, showing interest in her life (enough so that she feels validated and that you're involved), and c...

Re: First Wife Protest
Is your relationship solid outside this issue? Is the conflict limited only to guns? If not, fix the underlying relationship issue and this will disappear. Do you have a history of getting really into interests or hobbies? Is your wife reacting to a pattern of behavior, making the gun itself irrelev...

Re: Fear of Guns - A Success Story (Update)

Several of them have CHL now Class taught things that I'd never thought to teach my wife. Started a new thread h...

Re: How do you open the door at home?
I don't answer if I'm not expecting someone. If I am expecting someone, I look out first then open it. One time, someone tried to come in after knocking with no answer. That was scary!

Isn't Microsoft clipart royalty-free and free to use? Most of Wikicommons is as well.

It wasn't the typing (which I hate doing on a phone), but the filter I was reading it through that was producing puzzling results.

How juries determine guilt--character profiling
Whether you follow the letter or spirit of the law, how a jury will interpret that, etc are frequent topics of discussion here. That's why it was interesting to me to see how this jury thought, quoted from a blogger below. It was a rape case where a drug dealer/convicted serial rapist assaulted an a...

I don't mind the shirt. The jeans, I don't care for. But those sneakers are killing me! It's the '80s all over again! He needs a boombox on his shoulder!

Re: Callous disregard for one's fellow man
When we come across a new situation, it is filtered through our brains and compared to the situations most similar to it that we've run across in the past. For example: I've been around alcohol and those who drink it my entire life, but I can honestly say I've only ever seen 1 person stumbling drunk...

Re: Looking for a New Church
I would pray for guidance. If you are led to stay, I would then prayerfully and respectfully ask for a private meeting with the pastor about "a difficulty" you've been facing. I wouldn't say what for so he doesn't make up his mind before speaking with you. Then I'd politely lay out what yo...
