they are not " gun victims" they used a tool. the person with the tool is at fault.

all inanimate objects remain inanimate until out side forces act on them...

i do see your point but "wind" is not inanimate, nor is the weather. wait a day or two the weather will change. wait long enugh a gun may change to fe02 but its still a gun, just rustyer.
i guess you could be beaten with a gun but that still would require an action from an antimated object
