Police determined that the guns and knives had been stolen from a home in McLennan County, near Waco. Sheriff's deputies from that county called the homeowner, who did not realize his property was missing.

If the homeowner did not report them missing/stolen, how did not police know who to contact? I am hoping that maybe one of the cases had the contact information.
