Depends on how you define "effective".I don't see how you can effectively dry fire practice the classifier.
Knowing the stage lay-out and rules beforehand, and being able to rehearse the stage beforehand, is extremely advantageous. You don't have to remember, as you already know, and can focus on execution and not process.
Dry fire rehearsal is a very effective way to work the bugs out of some individual skills (draw, mag change etc...) and any tentative plans prior to refinement with live fire.
