Dropped firearm in Kingwood
I just saw on channel 2 news that a chl holder in Kingwood dropped his pistol out of his pocket and it discharged and pierced an elderly woman in her backside. The news said there is a sign inside that says no guns allowed so the man may face charges. I guess channel 2 news and Raffa's in Kingwood a...

Re: TLynn's 50th Birthday Present...a new 5.0!!!!
I'm so jealous it's ridiculous. I had a Trans Am WS6 Ram Air and sold it recently and ever since I heard the 5.0 was coming out with a vengeance, I've wanted one. Congrats on a sweet ride.

Re: Ammo for XDm 9mm
Thanks, Mojo. I'll keep that in mind. Perhaps I was limp wristing it. I try to be aware and not do that but I guess I better man up more when I'm shooting.

Re: Ammo for XDm 9mm
It wasn't a limp wrist issue. Shells were ejecting about half way and getting caught in the slide. Perhaps it needed to be cleaned and oiled out of the box. I didn't do that. I've had no problems with the gun since that first day and I've put maybe 500 rounds through it. Thanks for everyone's help.

Ammo for XDm 9mm
When I bought my Springfield XDm a while ago, I wanted to go straight to the range. It is my first handgun and I didn't know how big of a difference ammo makes in a gun. I went to Academy and bought some Monarch bullets and headed to the range. My gun was having problems ejecting the spent casings a...

Re: *****Crossbreed Supertuck XD 40*****
I just ordered a Supertuck last week for my XDm 9mm. I can't wait for it to get here. Between the CHL processing and holster building, I feel like I'll be waiting for a piece of mail for the rest of my life.

Re: To chamber or not to chamber
Welcome to the forum, Zeke. And congrats on the plastic. I think I may know you... Are you originally from Boseman, Montana? Here's a good thread about whether to chamber or not: http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=23319" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I a...

To chamber or not to chamber
I just got my plastic this past wednesday and I'm curious if the general consensus is to carry with a round in the chamber or not. I have a Springfield XDm 9mm and it doesn't have the traditional safety or hammer. Any advice?

Re: My experience with Bailey's House of Guns
I went to Bailey's right after I bought my first handgun, a Springfield XDm 9mm. I have fired friends' guns but never owned my own and by no means do I know a lot about guns. I bought some cheap ammo at Academy and set out to Bailey's. Apparently, Monarch shells don't eject properly from the XDm and...

I just got my plastic today and have yet to vow loyalty to a certain holster.
I dig this forum. Everyone seems super friendly and helpful. I'll be spending more time here than I need to for sure.

I'm sure you're right, Teamless. Just like a new watch or glasses, I'll get used to it. Thanks for the encouragement.Teamless wrote: If you wear it every day for a week, in a week you will say "what was I worried about"

Best choice for Springfield XDm
I just got my plastic today and I have an Uncle Mike's IWB holster that is pure garbage. Can anyone recommend a good IWB holster? Also, I'm curious about any info on a good shoulder rig. Horizontal or Vertical? I'm 6'2 and 170lbs sopping wet so it may be hard to conceal with a shoulder holster. Than...
