So has anyone gone recently and can tell me if they still have signage up after receiving this letter?
If they have come down, I might consider open carrying there.
Signs are still up at the ticket booth. You haveto go through metal scanners at the entrance. Folks (like me) with committeeman's badges are waved on through when the scanners go off. General public is wanded if the scanner goes off. Pretty questionable if the signs on the ticket booth qualify as "at the entrance" since someone who already has tickets would not go near those booths. Heck, I normally enter through the grand entry elevator and don't even go through the scanners.

OCing would definitely invite trouble.

As someone who normally OC's, even without the stance taken by HLSR, I would be hesitant to OC on the grounds due to the frequency with which you wind up packed into a crowd.

Re: Houston Livestock Show/Rodeo to Prohibit OC

Wednesday is also my day for AG notification. My first committee shift is Friday night. If the signs are there, I will take a picture.

Charles L. Cotton wrote:Someone needs to file a complaint with Harris County now. The Rodeo has already made a public statement banning open and concealed carry and that triggers SB273's provisions. The County will have three days to "cure" this notice. Since the notice was oral rather than a sign, the retraction must also be oral. Three days after filing the notice with Harris County, file a complaint with the AG. The AG must give fifteen days to cure and, again, the only cure will be oral retraction. Since the rodeo is more than 15 days away, and lasts more than 15 days to boot, the $1,500 per day per sign fine will attach.

Chas.
Does it have to be a Harris County resident? I would be happy to file this complaint. As a lifetime HLSR member and a committee captain, I am appalled at their new stance on concealed carry.
