Personally I've never shot one. It seems to be well made though, albeit a little heavy IMHO. I like the Troy BUIS and rail system too. I think for the price, you're getting a nice gun with quality add-ons.

There is nothing "wrong" with DI guns though. You can always add an aftermarket Adam's kit to any AR if you want a piston.

It really boils down to how much you want to spend on something. There are definitely advantages of a piston gun over a DI (less heat and less fouling into your upper). If I had the extra cash I'd look into an piston gun like an LWRC. For the prices of some pistons guns though, you could get a DI gun with optics and come in well under retail for some. For $2400 for some LWRC models, we can build you a fully custom gun with a piston Timney trigger, free float rail and optics for around or under that cost (depending on the rest of the build).
