Re: John Cornyn gets a primary challenger

No matter how the cases were decided in the past, it's plain to any reasonable person that the courts have stretched the commerce clause well beyond its limits in their attempt to bend over in obeisance to Congress. The idea that a BBQ joint on the side of a federal highway could be involved in interstate commerce is laughable on its face. It's hard to see how the Justices can look at themselves in the mirror considering their complete lack of integrity to the written words of the Constitution. The Court is supposed to be a check on the power of the Executive and Legislative branches, not a rubber stamp for every anti-federalist piece of legislation that Congress can dream up.

That may be directly true.........
But he did nothing to block Holder's appointment. I saw the writing on the wall during all that and wrote him urging him to block Holder's appointment. Got the usual form letter back and as far as I know he probably voted for Holder in the end...... :roll:

And that my friends indirectly affected gun NON-Control which has let us to current control actions. :banghead:

Not to mention all the other messes/lies Holder has been involved in with "The Anointed One".
Holder's nomination won by a 75-21 vote. Cornyn voted No. http://www.mainjustice.com/tag/eric-hol ... firmation/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So did Senator Hutchinson, so you can't hang that one on either one of our Senators.

Cornyn did vote yes on Tarp. http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/r ... vote=00213" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So did Hutchinson, but you have to remember, that bill was pushed by a GOP President and the warnings of the economy collapsing were dire at the time.

You can see Cornyn's voting record on various issues here: http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/john_cornyn.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you thought Cornyn seems a bit wishy-washy on his support for gun rights with his form letters then maybe this other guy might be better option.

Or maybe a better challenger might appear between now and 2014.
He sounds like a good man, but I don't think there's anything wrong with Cornyn. I'd rather see him run for a position that would replace a bad Texas politician.
