This will kill the democrat party if it passes.

I hope it doesn't pass (and I doubt seriously that it will), but I also hope it kills the Democrat party. They have needed to die for a long, long time. Then all we have to do is kill the Republican party, and we can start with a clean slate and elect politicians who understand what voters are.

I spoke one of my nephews tonight. He's a Sheriff's Deputy in a NC county. I asked him this specific question, and he told me that he and others had discussed it a lot. He said there's not a single man in his department who would enforce such an order. He said there were two compelling reasons; it's unconstitutional and you'd have to have a death wish to want to try to confiscate Americans' guns. I grant you, it's anecdotal, but given what's been posted in this thread previously, my take is, outside the big cities, which are socialist havens, such an order would be extremely difficult to enforce because the LEOs do not support it.

He told me they're all aware of what's going on, see the shortages of ammo, the unavailability of semi-auto rifles, and realize that Americans are preparing for whatever contingency might come.

Take from that whatever you will.

“WE” didn’t kill anyone. A deranged person did. And if it were possible to get rid of guns in America (it’s not), deranged people would simply find another means toward the end.

It’s idiots like you that blame innocent citizens for the crimes of madmen that got America to the state it’s in now where you think someone exercising their God-given and CONSTITUTIONAL right to bear arms is “violating everyone elses [rights] by endangering us all”.

Madmen endanger you. Law abiding citizens do not. If you can’t figure that simple fact out, please stop voting. You don’t deserve the privilege.

90 million Americans own guns. If 10% of them refuse to give them up, that's 9 million people. Where's the government going to put them all? I think outright confiscation will lead to civil war, and the government will lose in that case. 9 million motivated gun owners is about 7 times the total US military strength. Some of those military will not shoot Americans, and many of those 9 million are veterans of wars. The bloodbath would be horrible, and the government would not hold the moral high ground.
