I've been using:
PO BOX 15888
Austin TX 78761-5888
And they have always received it. However I have had student tell me the same thing. I can't verify that the one online is correct or not but I do know the student that have used the above address their packets have been received.

Re: How much time?
The online application is good for 1 year from the date you paid money to DPS. The class completion form is good for 2 years. I have had students tell me that their info got dropped from the system after 90 days from the date of application. I'm pretty sure they were asked for "additional info...

Re: Student's Application for CHL Terminated after 90 days?
This is the response that I received back from the state: So there we have it. ================================================================================== From: "CHLinstructors" <CHLinstructors@txdps.state.tx.us> Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2011 09:38:02 Subject: RE: Students CHL application ...

Re: Student's Application for CHL Terminated after 90 days?
Like I said a similar thing happened to me but they didn't terminate my application. I don't know how much information the "check the status of your application" offers now but back then it just stated processing application and that was it. I am of the belief that I shouldn't have to hunt...

Student's Application for CHL Terminated after 90 days?
I had a student contact me this morning to inform me that he called the State to check on the status of his application and they had informed him that it had been terminated due to no response. They informed him that they sent him a letter that he never received and since they didn't get a response ...

Re: Noob in the Ranks
slight thread jack, but how soon do y'all hear from the state once you've sent in your app? I filled it out and paid online ~2 months ago, mailed it in about 4 weeks ago. I still have not heard from them and, as of today, am not scheduled for any class yet. When dealing with the state the time fram...

Re: Noob in the Ranks
Lot's of good info in the search engine for instructor renewal but little for noobs. I have done the online app and L1. What happens now? Am I required to send the CHL-90 prior to being assigned a class? I've downloaded and reviewed it and appears that the majority is not applicable due to never ha...

Re: Notary Process
I agree, I have not provided notary service in quite awhile. Most student would rather fill out the application online especially when you advise them that it will help them get their plastic faster. I have had maybe 2 or 3 cases in the past year where they wanted to send in the paper application. N...

Re: CHL 16 Law Book
I print off my own. I have access to a few Xerox Workcentre Pro 5655's and select "Booklet" Format in the printer options. It takes about 18 actual pages but it adds up when your printing 40 - 50 booklets at a time. I then bought a large stapler from Office Depot and adjusted it so that I ...

A Forum on Concealed Carry on Campus being held @UTArlington
There is going to be a forum on Concealed Carry on College Campus on February 3rd 2011. My younger sister attends The University of Texas in Arlington and showed me the following event invitation she received through Facebook. It might be worth checking out, I am curious to see their opinions and wh...

Re: Any instructors in the DFW area willing to let me sit in
As an Instructor (Fort Worth Area) I would let anyone sit in provided that I still had space available. I don't think I would mind questions either as long as they were on topic and beneficial to the whole class. If the questions got out of hand where I was spending more time answering the questions...

Re: Getting Started
Another question I have is how is the demand for classes right now? When I first looked into getting a CHL a few yearse ago it was very difficult to find a class. I remember that at most places I called you had to book a couple of months in advance. They were usually completely filled. I called aro...

Re: Gun Self Defense Myths
Well my neighbor wanted to take my class but told me she wouldn't kill em, she would just wound them. I told her " What happens when the guy or whoever gets out of the hospital or jail and comes to see you, what then? She didn't take my class. Fools, one borne every minute. You should have tol...

Re: Recommended CHL Class
So, anyone have a recommendation for a excellent class with a very knowledgeable instructor? I'm hoping for a class taught by someone like Excalibur, someone who is the voice of reason, and does not advocate coming out "gun blazing" for every situation. Someone who will teach de-escalatio...
