Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably
Steveincowtown, you're right. The purpose of this is a civilized discourse. I do apologize for my tone but I despise hypocrisy. I will not however rescind anything. The information I received is from the horses mouth. No doubt in my mind as to its validity. You all are, of course, entitled to your o...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably
Pardon my ignorance here, but can TSRA or NRA approach a Sentate member so that the companion bill (if it happens) has better language about 30.06 signs? Had HB 2756 been left as originally drafted there would be no concern about 30.06. It was drafted as constitutional carry with no mention of 30.0...

Other pro gun bills?
Where are the rest of the pro gun bills? I've been following the filed bills and there must be 20-30 that no one here has even mentioned. What gives? Are campus carry and parking lot the only bills anyone is concerned about? Just curious.

Re: Open Carry News Tidbit
Didn't Heller specifically say that 2A encompasses the right to carry handgun for defense purposes?

Re: Open Carry News Tidbit
Why is everyone caught up in logistics? I'm really not trying to rock the boat but it seems like there is much concern where the CHL's (those who can afford to pay for their rights) will be able to carry and not much concern with the RIGHTS of ALL citizens. 2A is now incorporated folks. Texas law pr...

Re: Action Needed: Employer parking lots
Having just read the text of the bill it states that it will not apply to "school districts, charter schools and private schools" Does that mean that anyone who works for a school or a school district is s*** out of luck?!?! What happened to "no carve outs," and "no texan be...

CHL at a political rally
My wife and I are thinking of going to the public schools rally this weekend at the capital. Is there any reason why I can't carry there? I don't think so but thought I would ask. Don't want to get popped for being armed at a political "protest" or other obscure crime.
Thanks

Re: Open Carry News Tidbit
I am against open carry. I am for making sure that any accidental display of a otherwise properly concealed firearm absoulty is no offense of any kind. That is exactly what HB 2756 will do. It completely removes the word concealed from the penal code. Failure to conceal will be history. I'll be abl...

Re: Visiting Austin this Friday
The ONLY placed you cannot go are the actual Senate and House floors, and only when they are in session and only if they're posted. I have carried into both chambers many times, right past DPS. Great experiences. Enjoy!

Re: case law for "intoxcated" limit while CC
I DO NOT want to carry drunk, nor do I carry after ANY alcohol consumption! I was just asking if anyone knew of a court precedent involving this particular statute

Re: case law for "intoxcated" limit while CC
Perhaps I should've been more clear. I never carry while I drink. I was however recently talking with a buddy about the topic and thought I remembered that it had gone to court before and been decided that any alcohol would find you in violation of that particular statute.

case law for "intoxcated" limit while CC
I know the statutes don't mention specifically any limit for CC but I recall someone pointing out that TX case law had been decided that ANY alcohol while CC would qualify as intoxicated. Ring any bells or am I having a brain fart? Thanks
