I've not ever met one of them for whom rationality was a consideration. All of the ones that I've talked to about guns are so conflicted within their own thinking that any attempt to be rational would make their heads explode. They simply dismiss any fact that doesn't support whatever current statement they are making and most of them refuse all factual references. Their feelings are all that they need or want. I was once told that I would never understand because I had no feelings and was simply cold and calculating. That was right after she said "and if it saves just one life, it is worth it." Balance isn't a consideration for them either. Weighing one set of bad consequences against a worse set of consequences isn't something they can handle. Such things are not part of the code of unicorns.Dave2 wrote:I think the point is that at least some of them will realize their position isn't rational.SF18C wrote:Not sure I really want to "help" the gun grabbers refine or improve their argument...their intent will not change.
They will just be a little wiser about how to get the way.
