But the ones killed by firearms are more dead than the others so they count more.Beiruty wrote:So the fault of death-by-Tobacco is the Tobacco Cos. I couldn't believe it, it is still legal to buy and sell the killer number #1 in US. Where are those nice-to-be around to stop the massacre committed by Tobacco?

As per CDC:Killing others with your smoke, isn't that a murder? In the United States, smoking is responsible for about one in five deaths annually (i.e., about 443,000 deaths per year, and an estimated 49,000 of these smoking-related deaths are the result of secondhand smoke exposure)
49K per year for secondhand exposure is like 5-6X more than all death by firearms!!
Tobacco: 49,000 death per year
Firearms: 08,000 death per year.
I keep asking some of the anti-gun folks "what problem are we solving again?" They tell me how awful all of those gun deaths are and then we get into the top ten causes for deaths in America.

There are certainly some gun deaths rolled up in the suicide numbers but since the US suicide rates don't differ with other countries, the claim that guns cause suicides is bogus, too.
