Only if you vote for R.

Accepting the notion that you have no impact, is only letting the GoP establishment get what it wants.
I'm no fan of the GOP establishment. In fact, I've been out campaigning against one of their candidates. I cheered when Lugar was defeated. That schmuck was involved in the same LOST (Law of the Sea Treaty) fiasco that the President is trying to foist on us. Somehow, we keep loosing sight of the fact that there are those on both sides of the isle to are doing us a lot more harm in elected office than good.

But I'll promise you one thing: there will be no "O" vote from me in November. Romney on his worst day is nowhere near that bad. In search of the perfect candidate, we found one that is against everything that I believe in. I was thrilled to see a bunch of GOP wins keep him in check until we can put HIM on the unemployment line. We'll deal with any more GOP problems like Lugar later. Somehow, I believe Dewhurst is closer to the Lugar mold than Cruz.

Cruz is consistent in his beliefs and actions. He is a fighter and I believe he will not backdown when the going gets tough.

Cruz got my vote. Anyone that Rand Paul will support, I will support (as sheepish as that is).

I voted for Paul in the primary, because he believes in and won't trounce the constitution, like Romney has in Massachusetts. I'm surprised ANYONE on this forum would support that anti-gun fanatic.
I didn't get to set up the choice. But between Romney and Obama.... Hmmm... let me see..... NO CONTEST! If nothing else, remember the last two Supreme Court appointments, what they were and who made them. Believe me, there is another Kagan or Sotomayor out there and it is only going to take one more and bye, bye 2nd Amendment.

If for no other reason than sweeping house, I'd like to see Cruz get it over Dewhurst.
That's fine, but you (in Tx) still have a vote for the primary nomination. If you don't like Romney, DON'T VOTE FOR HIM!

Heartland Patriot wrote:One darned thing that would make me sick to my stomach is a Texas state income tax... :mad5

Did Dewhurst really support that? One of the things that makes this state a good place to live is the fact that they aren't skimming money from us right off the top the way the Feds do...and once an income tax is in place, the only way for the percentage to go is UP...taking from those that produce to hand out for votes...has anyone looked at California? I want them to eat their mistakes out there, as a warning of what NOT to do...and I sure can't vote for someone who wants us to walk down the same road that has lead California into the cesspool they are wading in...
:iagree:

:soapbox on:

There WAS a Texas wage tax proposal in the last session. Truitt, Strauss and many others supported it. Now, like Obamacare, none of the people who were in power at the time that it was on the table for discussion want to talk about it. Where is the video clip from Dewhurst at the time of the wage tax discussion vigorously defending against it? My new standard for politicians is if they are in power and not vigorously fighting against an idiotic proposal like the Texas wage tax, they are, by default, supporters of it.

The thought of sending another Senator from Texas who is like KBH has been make me shudder. When was the last time she was against any of the stupid thing that the Libs have tried to do since 2006 when they won the Senate?

:soapbox off:

Like so many of the races, this one, to me, is not about picking the best candidate but about picking the one who is most likely to defeat Dewhurst. He has too much political muscle behind him to approach it any other way.

I'm leaning Cruz, but could be persuaded if I had more info. Leppert seems to be a non-starter, and James looks like he's trying to rebuild his reputation after the Texas Tech debacle.
:iagree: I'm in the "anybody but Dewhurst" camp. Cruz is the Tea Party favorite but I wish that Leppert had more support. I don't know yet what I'm going to do with this one.
