Would that it were that simple. I've voted for a lot of people who promised one thing and did the exact opposite after the election without telling us. Our current POTUS is a great example (and no, I didn't vote for him.) There are some like Mayor Bloomburg who are quite upfront about their intent to subjugate their electorate and if the electorate puts them into office, they deserve that subjugation. I think we are still reeling from the horrid climate that unchecked PC progressive thought has wrought in this country. I hope we will be "land of the free" again some day.
I marvel at how many people rail against government intervention into their lives and then every time a problem arises, want a government solution for it. The nanny state control freaks are only too happy to oblige. The truth is that many people don't want to be free because it comes with the responsibility for their decisions.
