The wife came to me at bed time (no it's not one of those stories) and told me we needed milk and lunch stuff for the kid in the morning so I went to Wally World, and I took this chance to do a mini walk. Parked out in the far part of the lot, walked around the store, checked out the ammo, which by the way the Wal-Mart in Kemah is well stocked on most except for 380, then got the stuff I needed and left. Didn't spend a lot of time there as it's late and work beckons in the morning, but noone went yelling and screaming "He's got a gun" so I guess it went well, though I figured out I hate my little holster. I am not looking for extreme comfort, but a peace of mind would be good, and the little cheapo uncle mikes didn't offer that. I kept feeling like my holster was moving around and just not setting well. I'm ordering a crossbreed soon.

Thanks for all the congrats. I haven't been able to do a wally walk yet. As soon as I got home I crashed and haven't left the house except for going to church this morning, and I didn't carry to church, though there is always one in my car.

Hopefully all the others will be right behind me in getting their plastic. I know a few are in mailed status, just don't scare the mailman too bad when you run full speed at him to see if he has your plastic in his hand

Just got home from Nashville, and waiting for me on my kitchen table (baby sitter brought in the mail while I was gone) was an envelope from DPS, and in there was PLASTIC BABY.

Status updated this morning to mailed. And the good thing about that is I won't be stalking the mailbox till Saturday because I'm in Nashville right now.

Now the bad part is I've been stuck at print pending application review for a few days. How long does it take to review an application?

Just checked the DPS website this morning - 10 calendar days and now "Processing Application".

I hope this is early enough to miss the April 28 FBI delay deadline....

Sigh...so here it is 16 or 17 days later and other than the "facelift" regarding all the paperwork has been received, my status has STILL not progessed to a background check.

Very frustrating...

Don't be too frustrated. Mine never showed a background check pending, it never even showed anything about background check until this morning and it read background check completed.

Went to bed last night frustrated, my status hadn't changed, this morning I figured heck I'll check anyways, and it has been updated to background check completed, print pending review of application. My excitement is building as I am almost at the end of my wait.

No, it just stops after fees received. I emailed them, we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Pin received, the waiting continues. The good thing about waiting is I've doubled the amount of shooting I normally do trying to kill time.

I know, but it's like the year you finally learn there is no Santa, there is 4 weeks till Christmas and that present you've wanted for a while is sitting in your parents room, but you can't touch it for four weeks.
