Kalrog,
I was over on range B shooting my 1911's. I didn't notice who was over on A range. I didn't stay long, I was tired after the workday. I'm there almost every month, it's actually kind of fun. Maybe we'll see you out there next month, but I might be on vacation so .... whenever.
If you want to meet out there some time let me know.

How did that go? I was out there during the range cleanup and did a little shooting after that on the pistol range.Kalrog wrote:I'm heading out to the Austin Rifle Club today with my son for his first range day! Report to follow!

Re: Anyone N. Au/Pflu/RR Area Want to Go Shoot?
Red's is fine, I did a lot of my shootiing there to start out, but started going to outdoor ranges and find them less restrictive, cheaper and a lot more fun. If you are going to go once in a while, Red's is fine but there is also Eagle Peak in Leander. Membership is $10 lifetime, then $10 each visit afterwards. Unlimited time, unlimited guns, but no FMJ allowed for rifles .
If you plan to shoot a lot and would rather put your money in ammo than per-visit costs, you might look into Austin Rifle Club. Annual membership is $100 and as long as you follow safety rules, the options are nearly unlimited. Show up anytime, dawn to dusk and you pay nothing more. Hollowpoint, FMJ,big guns, little guns, whatever, it's all OK. They are also trying to get some action shooting (IDPA,IPSC,Cowboy...) going... someday.
They also allow 2 free visits as a guest of a member if you just want to try it out. I'm a member
If you like to shoot, you owe it to yourself to check it out http://www.austinrifleclub.org
